Dear Pastor and Church,
This month we were able to look behind at the past 11 months, only to see how much God has blessed us this 2022. We have traveled 60K miles with no accidents or any transportation problems. We have gained many more partners, and God has given us good health for the journey.
During December, we were able to be in churches in the states of OH, IL, and Florida. Quite often, we heard, “thank you for going to reach those people.” We are still pressing to secure all our financial support to get to the Tlingit people ASAP.
While we were in Illinois, I got in contact with a supporting church on the South Side of Chicago. I’ve always heard “news” about this part of the city. I decided those people needed the Gospel as much as anybody in the rest of Chicago or the suburbs. Andrew was my soul-winning partner, and I thank him for showing me around Englewood. Although the residents have been abused by sin: many are involved in drugs, alcohol, crime, and other illicit activities. After many rejections, a man named Carnell Cassidy accepted Christ as his personal Savior. Carnell, now 21, was run over at 14; having been declared dead, God gave him a second chance to live, and he is now born again. I am reminded of the words of the founder of the Salvation Army. “Go for souls and go for the worst” and the words of Paul -where sin abounded, grace did much more abound… (Romans 5:20).
We trust that you had a wonderful Christmas; we were able to spend it with friends and family. We wish you a Happy New Year and hope that the Grace of God will abide with you in 2023. Please keep us in your prayers; Sarah and Kayla are doing great and enjoying their Christmas presents. Thank you for your love and support.
Gratefully,
The Villafranca family
